Pay Rate:Dependent on degree held and classes assigned.
Remarks:Part-time faculty members scheduled to work eight (8) or more class contact hours per week over a fifteen (15) week term, or the equivalent thereof for short courses and summer term, are benefits eligible. Duties and Responsibilities:Duties and Responsibilities:
An instructor is responsible for providing high quality instruction so that each student may meet course outcomes. Collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to improve the student learning experience.

Instructional Duties:
Responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning in courses assigned. Create and model a quality learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs. Maintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes within established College timelines. Utilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes. Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes. Clinical instructors will provide a cohesive learning environment in a clinical care setting. The clinical instruction provided will be consistent with in-class lectures in response to the cohort's level.

Structure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes. Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate. Convene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries. Provide assistance to students outside the classroom through posted office hours. Attend in-service sessions, college/school/department meetings, graduation and convocation as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:Minimum Requirements:
  • An associate's degree from an accredited institution in Respiratory Therapy [OR] CCRN current New Mexico RN license
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • New Mexico Licenses Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • One (1) year recent experience in Respiratory Care or Critical Care Nursing.
  • Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check.
  • A bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, or related science discipline, or a bachelor's of education degree from an accredited institution
  • One (1) year recent teaching or training experience in Respiratory Therapy or related field
  • Two (2) years recent experience in Respiratory Care
  • Recent experience in clinical affiliates of the Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Active member of the AARC/NMSRC

  • Experience as an instructor of record in post-secondary teaching environment.
  • Experience teaching full-term courses in any of the following high-need areas in the department: (add list)
  • Teaching experience within the last five years.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current issues, trends, and developments in (add discipline) instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of teaching methods including lecture, discussion, collaborative learning and individualized instruction.
  • Work Schedule:Schedule may include days, evenings, and/or weekends, as assigned and needed. Schedule will vary from term to term.

    Additional CommentsIn addition to teaching duties, which are outlined above, instructors will maintain contact with the associate dean, maintain a high level of contact with faculty in their discipline, support and attend meetings. Successful completion of job duties and responsibilities requires computer literacy.

    An instructor is also responsible for working with the associate dean and colleagues to improve student learning experiences. CNM respects, requires, and depends on the service part-time faculty members perform.
