Remarks:This is a limited term position, funded through 06/30/2018 and eligible for benefits. Duties and Responsibilities:The Operations Manager role is position requiring a diversity of skills and initiative. It invites creativity, business, entrepreneurship, innovation and access to the tools needed by makers, artists, manufacturers and creators. CNM seeks experienced leaders, managers and critical thinkers to encourage ingenuity in stable but continuously growing and improving programs.

Operations Management: Establish standardized processes and procedures in operations and logistics, safety, maintenance, finance, membership, and employee expectations, as required to run and ultimately grow key programs. This includes retail work including management of payments.

Supervision and Leadership: Demonstrate excellent supervision and leadership skills by establishing clear expectations, developing partnerships with a diverse population that accesses the services with CNM Ingenuity, through the fostering of creative solutions and opportunities to develop the programs.

Quality and Safety: Have experience implementing best known methods in safety and quality management. The expectation is operating programs become the standards of excellences as a membership and/or service organizations, utilizing Quality New Mexico and Incident and Injury Free practices.

Technical Aptitude: It is impossible to know it all, it is possible to learn it all. Operations at CNM Ingenuity have equipment from the most basic hand tools to the most sophisticated printers. Be comfortable learning and ultimately teaching others what is available.

Critical Thinking: The programs requiring operational management maintain public private partnerships with many relationships and needs to serve their customers. Expect to solve the unexpected problem without significant supervision, at the right prioritization and at the same time having the wisdom to escalate key issues is a core expectation.

Customer Service: As a membership and service organization, understanding customer requirements and expectations is critical, and how to serve those safely, fairly, and reasonably that meet both the needs of the customer and the organization will be a daily deliverable.

Flexibility and Creativity: There is no roadmap for creative service and/or membership entity. Its members, employees, and supporters are resources. There are many right answers, and they will need to be invented, evaluated and implemented. Willingness to try thoughtful solutions and own the outcomes are one of the many opportunities in joining CNM Ingenuity.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Business Management, Entrepreneurship or related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years directly related experience
  • Preferences:
  • Experience in one or more areas to include small business ownership, retail, safety and quality leadership, metal working, welding, electronics, model building, carpentry, printing, computer aided design, workforce training, team building, film, prop, rental and/or making
  • Work Schedule:Forty hours a week generally Monday through Friday, however some evenings and weekend may be required to support the needs of the department
