Duties and Responsibilities:Under general direction of the Associate Dean of the school of Health, Wellness and Public Safety, responsible for the management and operations of the instructional skills laboratories and the simulation laboratories for the school. There are approximately 30 laboratories at multiple campus locations supporting student learning in a variety of programs. The management includes but not limited to, development, maintenance, enforcement of policies and procedures, scheduling, supplies, technology and equipment. Provides leadership, direction, and support to assigned staff.

Oversees day-to-day operations while actively engaging in long-term planning to decrease costs and increase efficiency and value to students. Monitors student needs and develops recommendations for laboratory operations.

Performs administrative duties, maintains records, reports, and files, and prepares various reports and written communications. Develops proposed laboratories budget, maintains inventory of necessary materials, parts, and supplies, confers with instructional clients, vendors and service suppliers, obtains quotes, orders materials, supplies, and equipment within authorized spending limits, works with purchasing and department management on procurement. Other duties include training employees; assessing performance; administrative approvals; addressing concerns and resolving problems; and maintaining workplace safety.

Works with community partners who may want to contract with CNM for usage of CNM simulation resources.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Computer or Information Technology, Engineering, Simulation Technology or related field.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Experience training, supervising and evaluating personnel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds of instructional materials.
  • Valid unrestricted NM drive license or must obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to relate to and interact with a non-traditional, diverse employee population.

    Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check.
  • Preferences:
  • Experience with web-based learning applications, and simulation lab equipment including LearningSpace, Pyxis medication system,& high fidelity mannequins.
  • Three (3) years related experience in instructional and/or simulation support.
  • Knowledge of simulations and simulation support models, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computers, software, classroom technology and audio-visual equipment.
  • Knowledge of instructional methods and simulation and role-playing teaching applications.
  • Work Schedule:Generally 40 hours a week Monday - Friday; although some nights and weekends may be required to support the laboratory needs.
