Duties and Responsibilities:Under limited supervision, the HR Consultant is responsible for providing consultative and client service to the college community regarding HR matters to include: policy advisement, change management and resolution, performance management, recruitment and staffing in accordance with applicable college, state, and federal regulations, processes, policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. Identifies innovative and effective approaches to assist departments in establishing and meeting administrative goals. Provides assistance in the investigation and resolution of employee issues, guidance on performance management and corrective action. Collaborates with Labor Relations to ensure compliance with contract provisions of staff and faculty unions. Participates in strategic planning and special projects to promote, support, strengthen, and enhance partnerships with clients. Partners with HR Information Technology Analyst on systems revitalization, process improvement, and internal audit initiatives to ensure data integrity of HR reports and metrics. Analyzes reports to ensure compliance with strategic goals and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, or Public Administration
    and
  • Five (5) years of progressive professional Human Resources experience.

    Must be able to pass criminal background check.
  • Preferences:
  • Extensive working knowledge of principles and procedures for human resources recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, labor relations, negotiations, and HR information systems.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, learning, and motivation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, effectively able to manage work flow, and ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and changing demands while being responsive to end user needs.
  • Work Schedule:This is an Exempt position requiring a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the College. The position is currently based at the Main Campus; however, location changes and travel will occur depending on the needs of the College.
