Remarks:This is a benefits eligible position. Duties and Responsibilities:Under general supervision, perform contract and grant accounting, payroll, general accounting, accounts receivable/payable, budgeting, and bank reconciliation; grants management and contract law. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations; and illustrate projections, finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures. Ability to develop financial and budgetary projections, as well as financial, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to create technical reports and presentations for diverse audiences and purposes. Must have strong accounting background and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to use personal computer, office software, and various office machines. Experience with SCT Banner or similar financial reporting software; ability to learn software and maximize capacity and application.
Ability to develop procedures, and to modify, improve and maintain written processes. Ability to approach assigned work with a problem solving, critical thinking and solutions-driven mindset. Organizational skills in scheduling and completing routine tasks, reporting, and account monitoring. Ability to interface with the Business Office and multiple internal departments. Ability to supervise staff, tasks and projects and to engage in team building activities.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or an equivalent degree with a minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours of accounting and three (3) years of related experience.

    Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check.
  • Preferences:
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or CPA-
  • Experience in a Post-Secondary Educational Institution.
  • Experience in fiscal administration of federal, state and/or private contracts and grants.
  • Experience in a non-profit accounting environment.
  • Ability to relate to and interact with a non-traditional diverse client, employee and student population.
  • Work Schedule:Monday-Friday 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
